A family business built on care
The farm has been run by the same family since 2009, starting with a handful of animals and growing steadily into a herd of around 90 llamas and alpacas, alongside the farm's resident guanaco. It remains a genuinely small, hands-on operation rather than a commercial visitor centre.
Many of the animals here have come to the farm needing rehoming or rehabilitation rather than being bought as youngsters, and the team takes real pride in giving them a settled, well cared for home in the dale for the rest of their lives.
That ethos comes through in how visits are run, small groups, unhurried pace, and a genuine focus on the animals' wellbeing over throughput, which is part of why it has built such a loyal following locally and on Tripadvisor.
Making the most of your visit
Booking ahead is essential, choose between a full trek for ages 10 and up or a shorter family experience suitable from age 7. Check the website for current pricing and available time slots before you set off.
Wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather, since most of the visit takes place outdoors on farm tracks and in the fields whatever the forecast.
Being only minutes from the town centre, this pairs naturally with How Stean Gorge or Brimham Rocks on the same day, or simply as a relaxed morning before heading into Pateley Bridge for lunch.
What to see
Llama & Alpaca Trekking

Meet the Herd
Around 90 llamas, alpacas and even a guanaco call the farm home, each with their own character, and many with a story of rescue or rehoming behind them.
Family Experiences
Shorter sessions are available for younger children from age 7, letting them meet, groom and feed the animals without taking on a full trek.
A Nidderdale Institution
Family-run since 2009 and consistently rated one of the top attractions in Yorkshire on Tripadvisor, this is a much-loved local business rather than a passing novelty.
