More than a name on a gate
Moorview started in 2009 as a small dog rescue operation, taking in animals from pounds and difficult backgrounds and working to find them new, permanent homes. Since then the team has rehomed more than 2,000 dogs.
Alongside the dog rescue work, Moorview has grown into a sanctuary for a handful of rescued farm animals who now live out their days on the farm, including Monty the pig, goats Luna and Willow, and donkeys Paddy and Oreo.
Set deep in the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the farm is run by a genuinely small, dedicated team rather than a large charity, and every visit and donation makes a direct difference to the animals in their care.
Visiting and supporting
Because Moorview's primary purpose is rescue and rehoming rather than running a ticketed attraction, it is best to contact the farm ahead of any visit rather than simply turning up, especially if you would like to meet the resident farm animals.
There is no charge to visit, though donations are always welcome and go directly toward the cost of caring for the dogs and farm animals currently in their care.
If you are looking for a meaningful stop on a Nidderdale day rather than another ticketed attraction, this is one of the more genuine ways to spend half an hour close to Pateley Bridge.
