The three activities
Via Ferrata
One of only three Via Ferrata courses in the UK, and the only one in Yorkshire. A trained instructor clips you onto a course of cables, ladders and beams that crosses the gorge and passes underneath the glass-floored cafe, before you escape back to ground level through Tom Taylor's Cave.
Abseiling
A 14-metre rappel from a bridge down into the swirling water below the gorge walls. The most nerve-jangling ten seconds of the day for most people, and the one everyone talks about afterwards.
Gorge Walking
Wading, swimming and scrambling along How Stean Beck itself: climbing small waterfalls, sliding down rocks, jumping into deep plunge pools and fossil hunting along the way. Every jump and slide is optional, with instructors on hand throughout.
