HIGH STREET · PATELEY BRIDGE
Talbot House
Tearoom
A proper tearoom in a beautiful Georgian townhouse on the High Street. Homemade food, real hospitality, and somewhere to properly sit down.
The kind of place you come back for
Tucked inside a handsome three-storey Georgian building right on the High Street, Talbot House is one of those places that earns real loyalty. It spreads across several rooms, each with its own character: a bright front room with white vintage chairs and floral tablecloths, a cosy back room with deep Chesterfield sofas and fairy lights strung along the walls, and a window seat that looks straight out onto the bustle of the High Street.
The food is made on the premises. Scones come warm. Cakes change with whatever the team has baked that day. The lunch menu has proper substance: toasties, paninis, jacket potatoes and sandwiches, all served with homemade wedges or a side salad. Portions are generous in the best Yorkshire tradition.
Vegan and vegetarian visitors are well looked after: the menu lists multiple vegan sandwich and toastie options, vegan jacket potato fillings, and the team are happy to talk through what works. Likewise for vegetarians, there is plenty of choice without hunting for it.
On the drinks side, you will find proper loose-leaf Yorkshire tea, real hot chocolates, a full coffee menu from espresso to latte, milkshakes including a children's menu, local Pendlemas ginger beer and Harrogate sparkling water alongside wine, cider and beer.
